Since its first publication in 1740 as a novel by French writer Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, the timeless fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast has fascinated audiences in a variety of adaptations. Experience the mastery of the story once more as Ballet Idaho presents Brue Wells' one-act adaptation alongside a world premiere work based on Camille Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals by Danielle Rowe.
What is the story?
Belle is a bright and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in its castle. Despite her fears, she looks beyond the beast's frightening exterior and befriends the castles enchanted staff. Unbeknown to Belle, a Prince is trapped inside the form of a beast - but will she be able to recognize his kind heart and soul and free him?
